Biofuel pellet production line

Why make it into combustion pellets?
We engineer complete custom biofuel pellet production line that turns sawdust, straw, and forestry waste into consistent, high‑BTU fuel. From intake to bagging—reliable, efficient, and durable—built for your specific feedstock moisture and capacity target.

Diameter
6-12 mm

Moisture Content
8%–12%
Biomass fuel pellets are high-density solid cylinders extruded from forestry and agricultural residues, such as sawdust, wood chips, straw and rice husks. Traditionally, these wastes were either burned or left to decompose on farmland. After pelleting, they can be used as a coal alternative for combustion. Their thermal efficiency exceeds 80%, higher than ordinary coal, with extremely low sulfur and nitrogen content and no black smoke during burning.

Full Biofuel pellet production Line Process
Turning raw biomass into uniform fuel pellets isn’t magic—it’s a controlled sequence. Each stage matters, and we’ve learned that based on ample experience. Miss moisture control? Pellets crumble. Skip screening? Dust kills boiler efficiency. Here’s the real workflow we use daily in our own projects.

01
Raw Material Preparation
Logs and thick branches are cut into 3–5 cm fragments via chippers. Raw materials often contain stones, iron wires and sand, which must be removed through cleaning screens and magnetic separators.
02
Crushing
Chipped fragments are pulverized into sawdust-like fine powder in hammer mills. Crushing fineness directly determines pelleting quality. Screen aperture sizes shall be adjusted according to varying raw material hardness.
03
Drying
Fresh wood and straw carry 50%–60% moisture, while pelleting requires a stable moisture level of 15%–17%. Dryers are therefore mandatory. Rotary drum dryers remove water with hot air. Heat sources can be waste steam from factories.
04
Pelleting
Fully dried raw materials enter the pellet mill. They pass through a conditioner (for steam softening or binder addition if needed) before being squeezed between ring dies and press rollers to form cylindrical pellets.
05
Cooling
Freshly extruded pellets are hot and soft; direct bagging causes collapse, deformation and mold growth. A counterflow cooler lowers pellets to ambient temperature and removes residual moisture.
06
Screening & Packaging
Cooled pellets pass through vibrating screens to separate fine powder and broken fragments, which are recycled for re-extrusion. Qualified finished pellets are delivered to automatic packagers with automatic weighing and sealing.
