Full Shrimp Feed Production Process

Making shrimp feed is a step-by-step journey. Each stage plays a specific role – from breaking down raw materials to forming a durable, water-stable pellet. Here’s our process, designed for both pellet and extruded feed production.

Pre-treatment & Grinding

A paddle screw conveyor breaks clumps and removes debris early. Ultra-fine grinding (80–120 mesh) delivers fine particles for better digestion – or 60–80 mesh for extruded lines.

Mixing

Ingredients of varying densities are blended uniformly before conditioning. This step ensures consistent pellet quality – especially critical when adding oils or other liquids.

Pelleting / Extrusion

This is core step. For pellets, high compression ratios (1:20-1:25) and triple-layer conditioners create dense, durable feed. For extruded (floating/sinking) feed, we use twin-screw extruders with precise density control.

Drying & Spraying

A multi-layer dryer removes moisture without cracking pellets. Then, oil and heat-sensitive additives are sprayed on under vacuum – boosting nutritional value without compromising pellet integrity.

Cooling

Pellets exit hot and soft. A counterflow cooler drops them to near-ambient temperature. This process hardens the pellet, prepares it for safe storage, and uses ambient air drawn from the bottom for efficient heat exchange.

Screening & Packaging

Final screening removes any fines or oversized particles. The dust-free, high-quality pellets then move to the packaging station. Automated scales ensure accurate bag weights before they are sent to the warehouse.
